Nonlinear Stability of Convection in a Porous-Medium with Inclined Temperature-Gradient
The energy method is used to discuss the non-linear stability of convection in a horizontal porous layer subjected to an inclined temperature gradient. The compound matrix method is used to solve the associated eigenvalue problem. It is noted that linear instability is superceded by subcritical finite amplitude instability.
