Bio-Inspired Enamel Repair via Glu-Directed Assembly of Apatite Nanoparticles: an Approach to Biomaterials with Optimal Characteristics
A biomimetic construction of enamel-like apatite material is achieved by the cooperation of nanoparticles and Glu on enamel substrate under physiological conditions; the artificial apatite layer shares the exactly same crystallographic and tectonic properties with the natural enamel; and the apparent restoration of enamel hardness is particularly significant. We suggest a biomineralization-inspired strategy to approach biomaterials with optimal characteristics.
