A new approach for the study of turbulent boundary layers with blowing
The study of a turbulent boundary layer submitted to injection through a porous plate is investigated. Using a classical model of turbulence for the main flow, the physical phenomena linked to the blowing are modeled considering the porous plate as a discrete succession of pores and solid elements. The main flow can have a temperature different from that of the injected fluid and both dynamic and thermal aspects have been considered. The results have been compared with results from the literature and with experimental measurements, showing a good agreement. An important decrease in the friction factor with the injection rate has been observed. Furthermore, the heat transfer coefficient decrease is very significant.
