Mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized using different carboxylic acids as organic additives in a very short reaction time (10 min) in supercritical methanol. Solid spherical mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles were obtained using phthalic acid, whereas hollow spherical mesoporous TiO2 nanoparticles were obtained using formic acid.
