Conversion of thermal energy into electricity via a water pump operating in Stirling engine cycle
in this paper, the principle of heat energy conversion via Stirling pump into electricity is considered. New scheme of Stirling pump is proposed, that differs from known ones in application of offset heater and cooler and valves controlling the motion of liquid. The mathematical model is implemented to examine the liquid flow and gas heat exchange in cylinders and regenerator. The numerical simulation of engine's working cycle is conducted for the purpose of determining the characteristic parameters of its design. A possibility of achieving high thermal efficiency at acceptable power level is shown. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
