RHEOLOGY OF CATIONIC SURFACTANT SOLUTIONS .19 SHEAR-INDUCED STATE
The first part of this work presents an elemental overview of the physical chemistry of cationic surfactant in aqueous solutions. Aqueous solutions of some cationic surfactants show shear induced phase transitions at highly dilute solutions. Rheological data and the results of flow birefringence measurements indicate that the micellar structures in these solutions undergo flow induced sol-gel transitions.
