Comparison of various mass transport models in multicomponent condensation without inerts
Kinetic and equilibrium mathematical models, describing the phenomena occurring during the condensation of multicomponent mixtures have been presented. Two limiting cases of the condensate flow have been assumed for each model: segregated flow (1) and ideally mixed flow (2). Numerous computations have been performed employing the kinetic and equilibrium mathematical models for the two limiting cases of the condensate flow. The interfacial state variables (temperature, composition), the final degree of the condensation, the composition of the liquid and gas phase and the length of the condenser for various coolant have been compared. The cocurrent and countercurrent flows of vapour and condensate along the condenser have been taken into account.
