Comparative studies are presented on the gas-phase mass transfer for six metal ring dumped packings and five metal structured packings. The studies were conducted in a column 250 mm in diameter and for the system ammonia-air-water. Based on the experimental results, there are developed equations describing the gas-phase mass transfer coefficient for the packings investigated.
