Methane/nitrogen separation by pressure swing adsorption on a carbon molecular sieve
Experimental data and simulation results are presented on the separation of CH4/N-2 mixtures in a two-bed laboratory PSA installation packed with a carbon molecular sieve adsorbent. The rise in methane concentration is determined over a wide range of operating conditions. The CH4 content in the methane-rich stream is found to exhibit a well-defined maximum for low to moderate values of the adsorption pressure.
