Filter calibration: High precision method
The bubble-point test is routinely used to calibrate filters, but it is an indirect measurement. Test dusts, although a more direct method, suffer from a broad size distribution. Now, a range of glass microspheres, with a narrow size distribution, has been developed for the job. Dr Graham Rideal, Whitehouse Scientific Ltd, UK, explains.
