The results of the esterification of acrylic acid with n-pentanol and n-heptanol in the liquid phase without catalyst are presented. The kinetics of the esterification has been investigated in an isothermal semibatch reactor. The kinetic parameters have been determined. The reaction is of second order but the rate of formation of the product depends only on the concentration of acrylic acid.
