The influence of admixtures of methanol and butanol to syngas on the synthesis of higher aliphatic alcohols
The reactions of higher alcohol synthesis over the catalyst CuO/ZnO/ZrO2/Fe2O3/MoO3/ThO2/Cs2O developed in our laboratory were carried out with the addition of methanol or ethanol separately. A strong increase of the yields of all C-3-C-6 alcohols was observed. The yield of butanol is even more than ten times higher than that of alcohols obtained from syngas. The addition of ethanol is more efficient than that of methanol.
