Influence of oxygenated additives on the NOxOUT process efficiency
The reduction of nitric oxide by urea has been investigated experimentally in the presence of various additives using a well-stirred laboratory reactor operated from 900 to 1450 K at atmospheric pressure. The influence of injecting various oxygenated organic compounds on the maximum NO reduction has been discussed, as well as the possibility of widening the range of temperature where the NOxOUT process is effective. All the species investigated have been able to enlarge the width of the temperature window where NO abatement occurs without compromising significantly the maximum efficiency of the process.
