제목 Manganese oxide/carbon nanotube composite films for supercapcitor applications
초록 Several transition metal oxides such as ruthenium oxide, manganese oxide and nickel oxide have been applied in pseudocapacitors. Among these, manganese oxide exhibits relatively poor electrical conductivity. Because of this demerit, addition of other transition metal oxides or various carbonaceous materials has been attempted to improve supercapacitor performance. In this study, we have adopted a chemical bath deposition(CBD) method to fabricate manganese oxide (Mn3O4) nanostructures on carbon nanotube(CNT) thin films which were previously prepared on stainless steel substrate. We have discussed structural, morphological and electrochemical properties of Mn3O4/CNT layered thin films by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry. The Mn3O4/CNT layered thin film electrodes exhibit the highest specific capacitance of 514.8F/g at a scan rate of 5mV/s in 1M Na2SO4 aqueous electrolyte and show longer cycling stability than pure Mn3O4 flim on stainless steel substrate.
