Dissolution Property of Controlled Released Solid Dispersion of Carvedilol with HPMC and Eudragit RS |

In this study, solid dispersion was prepared by using spray-drying method. Solid dispersion improved solubility and bioavailability of insoluble drug. This solid dispersion was formulated with carvedilol and eudragit RS and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) to control the dissolution rates of carvedilol. Scannig electron microscope (SEM) was used to analyze surface of solid dispersion. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) show that crystallinity of drug was changed. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) shows that solid dispersion chemical structure comparing drug chemical structure was changed. The in vitro dissolution profile of solid dispersion presented at simulated gastric juice (pH 1.2). The dissolution rate of carvedilol was higher than pure drug and controlled, as increasing polymer content rate. This research was supported by WCU (R31-20029). |
