Poly(L-lactide) nanocomposites with surface-modified magnesium hydroxide for enhancement of mechanical and biological properties |
초록 |
Poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) is one of biodegradable polymers and is widely used in medical applications. When once PLLA is implanted into the body, however, the inflammation occurs that is attributed to the formation of acidic by-products during its degradation. In addition, the poor interfacial interaction between MH and PLLA leads to decrease the mechanical properties of PLLA nanocomposites. In this study, we prepared the PLLA nanocomposite with surface-modified MH via a melt extrusion process to enhance their interfacial compatibility. The effects of surface modification on interfacial compatibility were investigated by TGA, UTM, and SEM. In vitro cell viability and inflammation response were also evaluated. The results showed that surface modification of MH could effectively improve mechanical modulus and reduce the inflammatory response of the PLLA nanocomposites. |
