In the separation of p-chlorophenol from aqueous solution by liquid emulsion membrane, we investigated the effect of stirring speed in the contactor, volume ratio of internal water phase to surfactant solution, amount of emulsion solution and mechanical stirring in emulsification on p-chlorophenol separation for various contact times by employing ultrasonic homogenization. Using an ultrasonic homogenizer, the highest separtion of 98.9% was acheived at the emulsification time of 90sec and the contact time of 7min. The separation efficiency by the ultrasonic homogenizer was higher than that by mechanical stirring. |
