One-step synthesis of diblock copolymers using a dual initiator |

The synthesis of block copolymers using dual initiators has attracted considerable attention due to the limited number of synthesis steps and the possiblility of a one-step process. In the present study, well-defined diblock copolymers were synthesized successfully using a hydroxyl-functionalized RAFT agent as a dual initiator for RAFT polymerization and ROP in a one-step process. The molecular weights of the resulting polymers were determined by GPC and the mole fraction of each unit in the block copolymers was confirmed by using a 1H-NMR spectrometer. |
