제목 Synthesis, Photophysical Study, and Its Hydrogen Generation from Water Splitting Reaction
초록 In an effort to develop an efficient photocatalytic system, a series of efficient light-harvesting systems (Ir-PtGx, x = 1-3) based on dendritic 4-phenylcarbazole derivatives coupled with the photosensitizer ([Ir(C^N)2(N^N)]+) were prepared. The photophysical parameters (excited-state life time, absorptivity, and quautum efficiency) were measured. The photophysical study showed the efficient SS and TT energy transfer from the dendritic carbazole unit to the core sensitizer, indicating that the carbazole unit is an efficient light absorber and core Ir sensitizer functions as a spatial energy concentrator. In turn, it suggests that the photo-induced electron of sensitizer can be more efficiently transported into the neighboring water reduction center (Pt). Each compound was then used as a single-component photocatalyst (light absorber (dendritic carbazole)sensitizer (Ir)water reduction center (Pt) triad) in a standard photo-induced hydrogen production system.
