Wearable thermoelectric power generation module using synthesized flexible photo-curable polymer substrate optimized by 3D printer |

Nowadays, the demand for wearable devices has been increased. Then, continuous and reliable power supplies have been a significant issue in operating wearable devices. Recently self-powered thermoelectric modules using a body temperature have been studied in many research groups. To use thermoelectric modules with body temperature, it should be flexible to fit a body shape and generate reliable and efficient electric powers. In this study, we synthesized polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)-based photo-curable resins, which were used as 3D printer resins to make flexible thermoelectric body. Inorganic thermoelectric materials (N-type: bismuth telluride, P-type: antimony telluride) were used for electric power generating sources. As a result, we investigated the energy generation potential by measuring thermoelectric characteristics according to the number of P type and N type couples or temperature differences and showing the case of easy replacement of damaged thermoelectric materials. |
