The effect of material and processing variables on the morphology of core-shell type composite particles fabricated by Mechanofusion process |

Recently, highly functional composite particles with tailored structure and morphology have become more and more significant in many demanding applications such as cosmetic particles, color toner and ACF(Anisotropic Conductive Film) used in LCD interconnection materials and so on. Of two methods to make this kind of composite particles, dry powder coating methods are usually preferred to conventional wet based methods mainly due to their environmental cleanness and wider degree of freedom in designing composite particles. In this study we fabricated core-shell type composite particles consisting of host and guest particles using one of dry powder coating methods called Mechanofusion process. The effects of material parameter such as type and size ratio of host and guest particles as well as processing parameters including rotation speed and treating time on the morphologies of resulting composite particles are investigated and discussed in detail. |
