The low cost and high efficiency in DSSC has already proposed in literature as novel alternative for solar cell. Recently many electrolytes are come forward to replace high volatile liquid electrolytes. Polymer electrolyte seems novel candidate because it has high ionic conductivity, solid nature, and good efficiency. A new type of composite membrane based on low viscosity IL doped solid polymer electrolyte are also came straightforward to show efficient efficiency. Here we proposed and characterized Biopolymer composite membranes based on chitosan doped with an ionic liquid 1-ethyl 3-methylimidazolium thiocyanate for efficient DSSC. The doped ionic liquid films shows remarkable enhancement in ionic conductivity. The fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction studies affirmed the composite nature and good incorporation of ionic liquid as well as reduction in crystallinity of films. The fabricated DSSC showed good performance. |
