제목 Nano-Hybrid Films of Self-Assembled Monolayers and Polyelectrolyte Mutilayers
초록 Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) form organic interfaces with the properties largely controlled by the end groups of the molecules comprising of the film. In contrast, polyelectrolyte multilayers (PEMs), which are thin films of polymer blend, are determined their properties by mainely the molecular architecture of the film. We studied the surface properties of the hybrid films of SAM and PEM. The SAM films were prepared on silicon or glass slides with or without patterns. Then the polyelectrolyte multilayers comprised of hydrophilic polyelectrolytes were assembled onto SAMs by layer-by-layer technique. By changing reaction condition, we could control the composition and thickness of the hybrid films. These nanometer-thick hybrid films exhibit unique properties including surface wetting.
