Recovery of rare metals from waste LCD glass panel through leaching |

Followed by dismantling of waste LCD, for hydrometallurgical indium recovery from glass cullet leaching is the rudimentary stage. Although cullet-size reduction adds convenience for recycling, the determination of optimum size is rather essential from efficient leaching process development perspective. Hence, leaching efficiency of indium as function of cullet size were investigated. From our investigation, it has been concluded that size of waste LCD cullet inversely affects leaching efficiency of indium. For efficient leaching smaller cullet size has been recommended, hence, waste LCD needed to be crushed less than 1 mm. The comparison of indium leaching behavior using several acid solutions showed that all the acid solutions had similar leaching efficiency. Hence, the HCl can be recommended for industrial application perspective. |
