Thermo-mechanical behaviors of epoxy resins modified with nano-Al2O3 particles |

In this study, thermo-mechanical behaviors, such as curing behavior, thermal stability, dynamic mechanical properties, and thermal mechanical properties, of epoxy resins/nano-Al2O3 systems were investigated with several techniques. As a result, the maximum peak temperature of the epoxy resins/nano-Al2O3 systems decreased with the addition of nano-Al2O3 particles. The thermal stability of the systems was similar to that of the neat epoxy resins. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) indicated that the glass transition temperature of the systems to be approximately 10oC higher than that of the neat epoxy resins. The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) values of the systems at the glassy and rubbery regions decreased with increasing nano-Al2O3 content. |
