Electro and Optical Evaluation for the Dye-Sensitive Solar Cells (DSSC) |

Photocurrent and voltage (PCV) analyses were measured using pulsed laser-induced transient measurements (PLIM) to assess the electron diffusion and electron life time in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC). The changes in current and voltage over time period indicate attenuation of electrons and holes in the cell, from which diffusion coefficient of electrons in the cell can be deduced. The life span of electrons and diffusion length of electrons are linked to the efficiency of solar cells. The PLIM-PCV characteristics were studied in the dye anchored counter electrode (DACE) based DSSC devices by systematically changing the Y123-N and porphyrin dyes on counter and working electrodes with changing TiO2 thickness. The analyses confirmed that the TiO2 thickness increases the electron diffusion and the electron life time increases, thereby increasing the efficiency of the DSSCs. |
