초록 | The effects of the metal-cation exchange, metal-cation content, on the adsorption tetrahydrothiophene (THT) and tert-butylmercaptan (TBM) in natural gas over Na-Y zeolites were examined. The adsorption capacity was measured by means of fixed-bed desorption/breakthrough techniques at 30 ℃ and atmospheric pressure. In order to improve the adsorption ability, ion exchange was performed on Y zeolites with alkali metal cations Li+, Na+, K+, and transition metal ions Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Ag2+. Compared to commercial Na-Y, Cu-Na-Y and Ag-Na-Y adsorbed significantly larger amounts of both THT and TBM at ambient conditions. For ion-exchanged Na-Y zeolites, the breakthrough adsorption capacity followed the order Cu2+ ≥ Ag2+> Na+ > K+∼Li+> transition metal ions. The adsorption capacity for THT and TBM on the best adsorbent Cu-Na-Y-0.1, which was ion-exchanged with 0.1M copper nitrate solution, were 1.87 and 0.84 mmol-S/g at breakthrough, respectively. The results show that the high capacity of promising adsorbents Y due to the cations (especially in Cu2+ in Y zeolite) in the zeolitic structure which exhibit strong electrostatic interactions with sulfur compounds and an appropriate pore size. |
