Synthesis and Characterization of Diketopyrrolopyrrole Derivatives for Application of Organic Photovoltaics. |

Organic Photovoltaic Cells(OPVs) have attracted considerable attention due to their low cost, light-weight and flexible characteristics. To enhance efficiency, the polymers should have a broad absorption in the solar spectrum to ensure effective harvesting of the solar photons and high charge carrier mobility for charge transport. Among these materials, diketopyrrolopyrrole(DPP) is regarded as a low band gap material and has good potential for use as charge carriers. Thus, we have synthesized Diketopyrrolopyrrole-based conjugated polymer as a donor and measured performance of the cell by using of PC70BM as an acceptor. ITO/PEDOT:PSS/Polymer : PCBM/TiOx/Al, the active layer was sandwiched between hole injecting PEDOT:PSS layer and hole blacking TiOx layer, the maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) was 1.72% with current density (Jsc) of 6.17 mA/cm2, open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.88 V and fill factor (FF) of 32%. |
