Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) caused by foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV). This disease is one of the most important issues in all over the world. FMDV is highly infectious to animals, especially farmed animals. FMDV capsid protein is consisted of VP1, VP2, VP3, and VP4. We use this capsid protein as a target for screening DNA aptamer, which is specific bind to their target. Aptamer have high affinity to their target and stability at high temperature. Screening DNA aptamer by Systematic Evolution of Ligands by EXponential enrichment (SELEX) process. Eleven DNA aptamer candidates were selected by real-time PCR and sequencing. Followed by Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) process to analysis affinity between target and aptamer. These DNA aptamer candidates can capture FMDV capsid protein with high affinity.
