Silicone have advantageous properties and find applications in various fields. However, silicone materials that are commercially available are highly limited although there are different precursors available. In our laboratory, we have been developing silicone materials with unique features by adjusting chemical compositions. In this poster, we are presenting powdery silicone materials that are prepared by copolymerizing siloxane and silsesquioxane precursors. We aimed at powders materials that can absorb oil in high quantity. Some of our products showed oil absorbencies as high as several hundred percentage of their own weight. These silicone materials with new compositions are expected to be useful for different applications including biomedical applications. |
