Enzymatic saccharification and its use in conversion of residual cellulose divided from macroalgae to ethanol |
초록 |
Red algae, Gelidium amansii composed of glucan and galactan can serve as a potential feedstock for bioconversion to ethanol. Galacatan from G. amansii is effectively degraded to galacatose using dilute sulfuric acid at the optimum pre-treatment conditions, however, most cellulose remains as insoluble solids. In this approach, remaining cellulose is converted to glucose through enzymatic saccharification, and then converted to ethanol through fermentation. The objective of this study was to optimize saccharification conditions to apply the cellulases produced by a fungus isolated rice straw and the subsequent fermentation of the obtained hydrolysate by ethanogenic yeast Brettanomyces sp. |
