Polyurethane(PU) foams are widely used in automotive components such as sound absorption and seat parts material because of its light weight, competitive price, and easiness of manufacturing. The physical properties of PU foams can be enhanced by changing the base material, its composition ratio, and adding various fillers. Recently, eco-friendly PU foam materials have been actively reported for various applications due to their environmental advantages. In this study, corn flour filled PU foams were synthesized using a castor oil-based polyol. The changes of morphology and acoustic activity of PU foams are investigated by scanning electron microscope and impedance tube techniques at various corn flour contents and castor oil-based polyol ratio. |
