제목 Roles of graphitic-C3N4 on the Al2O3 for removal of naphthenic acid by liquid-phase decarboxylation
초록 Synergy effects of the basic grapitic-C3N4 (g-C3N4) modification on the Lewis acidic alumina were investigated to remove naphthenic acids (NA) in highly acidic crude oils (model component of dodecane used) to effectively suppress the corrosion problems in refinery industries by using much cheaper acidic heavy oils having a high total acid number. Among the elimination methods of NAs in crude oils, catalytic decarboxylation of NAs has been largely attracted due to its simple process scheme just by using Lewis acid catalysts. The alumina having a Lewis acid sites with mesoporous structures was effective for the NA removal, and the effects of grapitic-C3N4 were validated for an increased activity at an optimal 20wt% g-C3N4/Al2O3 by newly producing acid and basic sites. In addition, the main additional roles of the g-C3N4 were to reduce the coke depositions in a liquid-phase reaction by modulating the strong adsorptions of reactants as well. The g-C3N4 modification on Lewis acidic Al2O3 surfaces seems to cause a higher activity and stability by suppressing the strong acid sites of Al2O3 effectively.
