Our researches have focused on the development of hybrid composites composed of low-dimensional nanostructures that show promising functionalities as photocatalysts, electrodes, redox catalysts, and gas separator/adsorbent. Such hybrid composites can be prepared through hybridization between low-dimensional nanostructures. For example, an electrostatically-derived self-assembly between anionic layered metal oxide nanosheets and cationic metal oxide nanoparticles produces porous hybrid composites. In recent, the novel hybrid composites of MOFs and nanosheets were also synthesized. The obtained composites were systematically characterized. Particularly, XAS have been applied to probe the chemical bonding nature of nanostructures. The XAS results provide useful information on the relationship between the chemical bonding nature and physicochemical properties and functionality of the hybrid composites. In this talk, we will discuss in detail about the present hybrid composites. |
