Ammonia is one of the promising H2 storage platforms. It is easy to liquidate so that H2 gas can be efficiently transported as an ammonia form. However, the high volatility and toxicity of liquid ammonia endanger the concerned workers. Consequently, demands for ammonia sensors have arisen in recent. In this research, we suggest a self-healable, adhesive colorimetric ammonia sensor fabricated with the novel material, fiber-gel. The fiber-gel was prepared by gelation between Cu2+-adsorbed, partially crosslinked PVA (poly(vinyl alcohol))-PAA (poly(acrylic acid)) nanofiber and borax. To endow the sensor with desired mechanical properties, the fiber-gel sensor was covered with PVA-Borax hydrogel. The prepared sensor could detect not only ammonia liquid but ammonia gas below ppb level. |
