제목 | Development of sustainable co to ethanol conversion system using two-stage continuous stirred tank bioreactor |
초록 | Bioethanol production through syngas fermentation has recently been intensively studied in past decades. In this study, syngas fermenting a two-stage process was designed for sustainable bioethanol production using clostridium autoethanogenum, a strictly anaerobic bacterium. In the system, two continuously stirred tank reactors play different roles. At stage I, the strain was cultured at high density through cell recycling, and after reaching a certain density, they were transferred into Stage II. At stage II, high concentration ethanol production was performed using high-density microorganisms supplied from the first stage. For stable microbial growth and ethanol production, it operates in two-stage reactors with different medium composition and dilution rates. The two-stage process was successfully carried out for 58 days. Maximum cell density and ethanol concentration reached 49.5 of OD600 and 41.2 g/L respectively. |
