Dynamic contact angle (DCA) phenomena appears in various fields such as porous media, microfluidics, coating, evaporation. Even if these dynamics directly affects only the vicinity of menisci or interfaces, the Laplace pressure variation induces macroscopic flow behavior changes. So far, hydrodynamic and molecular kinetic models are major explanation where each has one fitting parameter related with molecular scale hypothesis. Under the significance that DCA will spread out various fields, determining this parameter should be simple enough at the same time. In this work, the contact angle dynamics is extracted from the capillary rise kinetics in vertical capillary geometry. Fitted parameter was calculated from capillary rise in error less than 5% when compared with direct visualization case. This result, as the best of our knowledge, enables further works to use capillary action as a simplest platform to investigate DCA ‘s fitting parameters without high resolution imaging. |
