제목 | Mechanical and stress relaxation properties of fluorosilicone foams containing thermally expandable microcapsules as blowing agent |
초록 | Fluorosilicone is a variation of silicone rubber that not only has good resistance to fuels, oils and other chemicals, but also has excellent high temperature stability and mechanical properties. Polymeric foams have drawn a great deal of interest because of their low weight and excellent energy damping properties performance combined with impact mitigation and cost reduction compared to conventional materials. In addition, the unique softening performance imparted by foaming can improve damage due to high stress in some cross-links that do not recover after removal of the force. In this study, fluorosilicone foams were prepared using thermally expandable microcapsules(TEMs), which is easy to compound with rubber matrix. Mechanical and stress relaxation properties were measured for samples prepared with different TEMs contents. Based on the experimental results, the usefulness of fluorosilicone foam as a seal for automotive engine parts was discussed. |
