Antifungal MOA compounds: synthesis, conformation, and fungicidal activity |

Recently, a series of MOA compounds emerged as a new class of agrochemical fungicides containing methyl β-methoxyacrylate (MOA) group, which show a novel mode of action and a good broad-spectrum activity through synthetic programs based on the natural products strobilurin A and oudemansin A by major agrochemical companies. Their mode of action is known to block mitochondrial electron transport by inhibiting the function of the cytochrome bc1 complex. In this presentation, our synthetic studies of novel benzothiazole methoxyacrylate compounds based on the antifungal natural product, strobilurin A will is described and their fungicidal activities against six representative fungal diseases are accounted by way of their comparative conformational analyses vs strobilurin A. |
