제목 Polyvinyl Alcohol/Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel Patch for Wound Healing
초록 We fabricated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel patch as a wound dressing by a simple freezing/thawing method to estimate the effect of HA addition and its molecular weight (MW) in the PVA hydrogel patches during the wound healing. The molecular weights of HA were controlled by a γ-ray irradiation [HA with high MW & HA with low MW]. The prepared PVA/HA hydrogel patches were flexible and elastic, and had a high swelling property in water. It was observed that the PVA/HA hydrogel patches had faster wound healing behavior than gauze and PVA patch groups, regardless of molecular weight of HA. It is probably owing to the synergistic effect of PVA and HA, which can allow the fast absorption of exudate from wound and provide wet environment for wound (PVA), and the stimulation of cell proliferation for wound healing (HA). This result suggests that the PVA/HA hydrogel patch can be a good candidate as a dressing material for effective wound healing.
