Catechol-Grafted Poly(sarcosine) Brush Platforms as Antifouling Coatings of Metal Oxide Surfaces |
초록 |
Poly(sarcosine) possesses properties such as protein resistance comparable to poly(ethyleneglycol)(PEG) in accordance with its similar chemical properties. Biocompatible poly(sar) has recently been highlighted as a potentially new biopolymer to replace PEG which is known to have toxicity depending on molecular weight. In this regard, poly(sar) could be applied to biomedical fields in substitution for PEG. For successful activation of biomedical devices or nanoparticles, which are transplanted or injected into human body, surface modification with biocompatible and antifouling materials is essential. As a result, we developed poly(sar) brush platforms via grafting-to method with catechol anchor groups and observed antifouling effects. Since different chain lengths of such polymers could be obtained through ring-opening polymerization of N-substituted N-carboxyanhydrides, we studied chain length effects of polymer brushes on the grafting density and ultimately the antifouling behavior. |
