제목 Mechanical Properties of Vacuum Carburized Steel in No Carbon Dioxide Emission  
초록 Vacuum carburizing process is expected to be better process for its environment-friendly, CO₂ free process, low-cost, high-quality compared with the gas carburizing. But, the vacuum carburizing has the step in which hydrocarbon gas is introduced into the furnace to be decomposited, and it is hard to stabilized for heat treatment due to the soot from the hydrocarbon decomposition. To solve this problems in vacuum carburizing, many studies have been to use acetylene gas instead of previous hydrocarbon gas. In this research, the carburizing process condition has been selected based on the Harris experimental equation, and it has checked the mechanical properties such as surface hardness, hardness profile, ECD(Effective case depth). The result indicated that the vauum carburized steels have no oxidation of the grain boundaries, and have the uniform carburized layer gradient.
