Furfural has considered as important raw material to produce the high value added materials such as cyclopentanone, tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, and furfuryl alcohol. The small particle size and uniform distribution of metal on catalyst surface can be improved catalytic activity. Herein, we prepared Pt/C catalysts with different stabilizer for the catalytic hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol. Pt dispersion was increased when stabilizers with dicarboxylate salts were used. The dicarboxylate salts can be more stabilizing between Pt particles, resulting high dispersed on catalyst surface. High Pt dispersion of the catalyst led to high performance of furfural hydrogenation, thereby, resulting more furfural conversion and furfuryl alcohol selectivity. |
