Dry Mechanochemical Synthesis of Cu2ZnSnS4 Nanoparticles: A facile and Scalable Route for Low-Cost Photovoltaic Cells |

Kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4(CZTS) compound semiconductors have been attracting a lot of attention as low-cost alterative light-absorbing materials to Cu(InGa)Se2(CIGS) due to the abundance of the constituent elements, Zn and Sn. We demonstrate here a scalable synthetic process for CZTS nanocrystals that can provide a chep, simple, and safe route for fabricating thin-film solar cells. CZTS nanoparticles were mechanochemically synthesized from elemental precursors without adding any solvents nor additives. CZTS ink was substrates by a doctor blade method to obtain the absorber layers. Substitution of Se for S thereby the photovoltaic performances of the resulting solar cells, which exhibited power conversion efficiencies over 6%. A diode analysis is presented to offer how to omprove the efficiency of the present decices. |
