제목 Recovery of Yttrium and Europium by Amins and Ammonium Salts as an Extractant
초록 The demand of rare-earth metals is geometrically increased with the development of new high technology industry such as superconductor, alloy and lighting industry. It needs the effective recovery technology of the metals in waste electronic devices for solving the increasing demand. A study on the recovery of yttrium and europium has been carried out by solvent extraction. In order to improve the recovery of yttrium and europium, the effects of the following factors on recovery experiment have been considered: i) the kinds of amines and ammonium salts, and ii) pH. Also, the fatty alcohols with various alkyl chain lengths are tested to break the emulsion occurred in the extraction experiment. When using the primary and secondary amine as an extractant, the recovery of the yttrium and europium is better than using the tertiary amine and ammonium salt.
