제목 macropore structure of carbon foam derived from the mixtures of phenolic resole resin and hydrophobic ionic liquid as liquid template
초록 Many efforts have been made to develop porous carbon materials with improved properties such as physical and chemical activation. Ionic liquids may be viewed as a new and remarkable class of solvents, or as a type of materials that have a potential to be used as useful templates with phenolic resin to prepare porous carbon foams. In this study, macroporous carbon foam was prepared using a mixture of phenolic resole and ionic liquid for the first time. The obtained carbon foams showed different porosity, size, and compressive strength tendency depending on weight % of ionic liquid, and the molar ratio of formaldehyde to phenol in phenolic mixtures. By increasing the concentration of ionic liquid, the electrical conductivity of carbon foams increased from 3.904 Χ 100 S / cm to 4.425 Χ 100 S / cm. This phenomenon might be attributed to unique electrical property of ionic liquid.
