제목 A comparison of the sorbitol reactions of sorbitan and isosorbide
초록 There is a growing need to use biomaterial as renewable raw material because of the limit of petroleum reserve. Sorbitol and it's derivatives are important products obtained from biomass. Formation of isosorbide is a two step reaction process. The initial reaction involves reacting sorbitol to produce monocyclic sugar which includes sorbitan. Sorbitan is converted to isosorbide. In this study, we have compared the two processes in presence of catalyst that are the reactions of sorbitol to sorbitan and isosorbide.
