제목 | A Simple Fabrication Process of Carbon Fiber Paper for Advanced Electric Heating Elements |
초록 | Carbon fibers (CFs) are widely used for a variety of purposes due to its high mechanical properties and excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. One of the promising industrial applications is the heating elements. Here we developed a simple wet-laid process to fabricate CF paper for electric heating system, in use of 6-mm chopped CFs and cellulose. Uniformly dispersed fibers in paper with a weight of 46 g/m^2 and a size of 12 x 12 cm^2 showed advanced properties; high tensile strength of ca. 15 MPa, good thermal conductivity of ca. 1.8 W/m•K, low sheet resistance of 1.77 ± 0.10 Ω/sq, and great surface heat temperature of 71.4 ± 4.5 ℃ at a very low power output of ca. 18 W. This CF papers with excellent heating performance could be provided for various industrial electric heating applications, such as portable devices, automobiles, floor materials, medical/healthcare solution, etc. in our daily life.
