Tin-based anode has been widely studied in battery due to high theoretical capacity of 992mAh/g. However, it has a major disadvantage of volume change during lithiation and delithiation, which causes irreversible capacity loss and poor cyclability. To solve this problem, the binders for anodes are effectively used to improve the electrochemical performances by the electrical connection between active material and conducting agent. We have synthesized poly(acrylic acid-co-acrylonitrile) copolymers and polyimides, and used as binders. The anode electrodes were prepared by various binders such as PVDF, PAN, PAA, synthesized poly(acrylic acid-co-acrylonitrile) copolymers, and, and different kinds of liquid electrolytes such as EC/PC and EC/DMC. The electrochemical performances such as initial capacity, C-rate, and cyclability were investigated and the coin cells prepared from polyimides and high molecular weight poly(acrylic acid) as binders exhibited improved capacity and cyclability. |
