Polymer Photovoltaic Devices Based on Modified Active Layers of P3HT:PCBM System |

Photovoltaic devices based on polymer:fullerence composites continue to be of interest as potential sources of renewable electrical energy. One of the most studied system is regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) blended with [6,6] phenyl C61-methyl acid ester (PCBM). The power conversion efficiency observed from P3HT:PCBM solar cells reaches 5%. In this paper, we made an attempt to make photovoltaic devices with blends of P3HT and PCBM by mixing polyglycol. Further, the active layer will be modified by generating metal particle in the active layer structure of P3HT:PCBM blend by mixing the metal salts dissolved polyglycol solution prior to the spin-coating process. |
